VLC media player unable to resume play without it pausing

It must be glitch in the software. I have tried several different websites and tried to find an answer and it doesn't make any difference on tweaks it still messes up

This has been my pet peeve with this program from the very begging of use. Certain video formats cause VLC player to open a video file slowly. I click on the file name, the windows icon spins a few seconds and then the video starts playing.
    2
Quirk 2. When a video is paused for longer than 2-3 minutes. When you resume play it plays for 2 to 3 seconds then pauses again. There is a 8-10 second delay then it starts playing again. Sometimes when it resumes play the video breaks up for a few seconds as though information is missing then plays fine the rest of the way.

I have done these things as per suggestions of other websites.

Advance Preferences >Video Codecs>FFmpeg> Skip the loop filter for H. 264 decoding> All
Advance Preferences>Video> Output Modules>OpenGL Video output for Windows
Advance Preferences>Input/Codecs>File Caching (ms) I changed it from 300 to 1000

    Nothing works Nothing is changed.
However never had a problem with MPC.

ad 2: video is on a HDD. After a certain time the power save mode becomes active. Starting up the HDD takes time. Possible explanation?

No response from anybody. I give up I am going to a VLC player forum maybe they can understand the problem. I am not blaming anybody. It is hard to explain but if you had the problems that I have with VLC player you would be as frustrated as me.

    Re: VLC media player

I found out what the problem is it is the blasted USB drive. Not the drive itself it is the technology used for external USB Drive.
I downloaded some video files to a thumb/flash drive and VLC player has no problems. No delay after pausing. So it is that startup sequence that is the culprit. The only problem now is any AVI file I have VLC Player claims that the AVI index is bad so it goes through a sequence of steps to fix it. I would think after it fixed it it would be a permanent thing. But no every time it I choose VLC Media Player it "needs to fix the AVI File"

What group to over the Media Player Classic -Home Theatre updates and improvements? I thought I had saved that information but I can't seem to find the information now.

Does anyone know if the Thunderbolt technology and hard drives via USB still has a delay feature like the current USB drives do?
