    Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth ?


    Hello,

    Within Device Manager there is listed within Software Devices...Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth which i never took notice of.

    Just out of curiosity...do you plug in a real synthesizer via some connecting console to back of pc to use this ..or is there a
    is a built in synthesizer which is hidden ?


    My OS is Windows 10 Pro 21H2 version 19044.1949 with latest updates.

    Hi,

    This synthesizer provides a Roland GS sound set, which includes and extends the General MIDI sound set.

    It is in reality the cheapest wavetable you can use to reproduce midi files.

    Any midi player can take advantage of it.
