Snipping Tool and Cut & Paste Size.

So I use Snipping Tool to cut an image. When I paste it into Word it is huge (meaning that it takes up a big area of the screen... goes margin to margin). How do I get it to paste 'smaller'. I don't care about how much data is being stored... I just don't want to have to resize an image every time I paste it.

I have tried changing Word settings (under Options>Advanced (Cut, copy and paste settings, and Image Size and Quality settings)) but don't find anything that helps.

When you paste an image into Word, you will get little resize handles at the corners that you can grab with your pointer to resize the image. Below is a sample. Note that you need to click on the image first to cause these handles to be shown.



EDIT: I know that you said that you don't want to resize the image every time. Only thing I can think of is to save the original image at a lower resolution, but I'm assuming that will take a lot more work than a quick drag to resize.

Thank you for your thoughts. But... thats true... I have a LOT of practice doing that resizing so I'm good there. This is just something i do MANY times a day. I had a bunch of updates (of what I don't even know) and this changed. It used to paste almost the right size so one or two grabs the corners and shrink wasn't too bad... but after the updates it is now huge and takes like 5+ grabs to get it small. But anyway, I appreciate your kindness.

Did follow the 'narrow text' part (I played with margin settings with a ParaSymbol highlighted... that didn't do anything. BUTTTT, I was able to insert a textbox and paste into that and it worked perfectly. However : -/, I am trying to make a macro to insert the textbox and paste into it. I'm getting an error, but I don't mind playing to work thru that : -).

I've had an idea that works pretty well. I paste the picture, right click, select size and position, click layout tab then make the absolute size smaller. That is quicker and better than the grab corner 5 times to shrink.

Now the perfect solution would be to create a macro that does all that. : -/ I am having trouble creating it (recording the macro doesn't 'allow' the same steps I use when doing it manually). So, I think this would be good as new post (unless I get an answer here ; -)).
