Winamp releases new version after four years in development

I have blocked PatchMyPC from informing my about Winamp, which I think was rather silly as I only use it to listen to my MP3's. My Laptop is next to my Win 7 PC which I use to edit whatever's needed and it has been disconnected from my Router.

Well just disable in PatchMyPC. I don't have it installed but from memory locate Winamp in the list of programs in the left pane and right click the entry for options to disable update checks for the program,

That has been done but I am going to reset it to where it was.

Winamp 5.9 RC4 Released

They've been busy. It's now up to RC4. The original post concerned RC1.

Fixed in earlier version RC3:
- Fixed: Oriental characters in Load EQ Presets dialog

- Fixed: Oriental characters in Watch Folders list

- Fixed: [in_midi] Oriental characters for metadata in File Info dialog

- Fixed: [in_nsv] Oriental characters for metadata in File Info dialog

So you should be okay with this latest version but make sure you have the installer for whatever dersion you are currently using available just in case.
