Program run as background process only

Suddenly, a random collection of programs and games don't run properly, they run as background process only.

When booting in safe mode the programs run in foreground, with an error like OpenGl 2.0 required etc (errors depend on what program) but at least they don't run as background process only

I did a full windows defender scan.

    Updated drivers including nvidea

I removed all external hardware, including monitors.

    All other programs work normally.

I don't see other wrird behaviour like extreme ram or cpu usage.

    I don't have a restore point.

One weird thing happend is the program ran normally for 1 day, and then went back to run as background process only. It happened randomly without me doing anything.

    Thanks you all

Do you run vsync or freesync by any chance? if so disable temporarilly.
Did you use DDU to totally clean nvidia drivrs out before reinstalled them?
If you do not have something like malwarebytes which i recommend download free and do complete scan root kit and all. i fear .dll may be corrupted so. after scan. in search box type cmd, its command prompt run as admin . in cmd prompt box type sfc/scannow hit enter and se if i corrects any files. also once that is done type dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth . exactley as i have typed out and see if it found any errors and corrected. if there is a corrupt .dll file it may replace to fix it. unfortunatley if malware hit a .dll file it will not or any virus program cannot detect those if infected. but i dought that is the case here. Do all of these i suggested and see if it fixes the issue.
if none of this fixes the issue , if you have any other video card try installing that with correct driver and see if that fixes the issue. that will tell you if your vid card has issues to run curtain programs and games. i hope this helps.

also there should be restore points from everytime windows updates if not you may need to click configure in the restore point area to expand how much disc space to use for restore points. if this all fixes and you want to make restore points i find it easy to just type create in the search box and the create a restore point from now on.

if everything worked fine before an update simply remove the update.

There could be a number of things it could be. windows managment instramintation wmi.exe. which dism should fix if so from the system TEMP file. dism can also repair registry issues aswell.

There are more things to try if these fail to work like booting from the instalation stick and click repair windows. But it sounds like its a corrupt windows file or corrupt driver from nvidia i heard recent of a bad one try a different one and disable all virus and malware protection when doanloading the new driver.

    Fixed!!

I managed to fix it yesterday, it was indeed an nvidea driver problem! Im impressed!!
I really appreciate you my friend, I haven't been let down by the Internet like this before,
posted my problem everywhere for weeks and no one seemed to help so I genuinely thank you for taking the time!!

Here's how it was solved and where the mistakes happen, in case someone have a similar problem:
My computer wasn't connected to the Internet for days before and after the problem occurred out of nowhere, so idk what what corrupted the drivers, I thought it could be the drivers so I downloaded them on my phone and tranfermed them to my pc and installed, the installer launched and unpacked for a bit then disappeared, I thought that was it, instalation done. Restarted the pc but the problem persists, but I found out yesterday that the driver didn't fully unstall, it was stuck as a background process! (Pretty meta ay) even though the driver number updated it wasn't fully installed which is weird, and that's where the mistake happen, because I thought it was installed, I removed the drivers from my troubleshooting. After I figured this out I installed the drivers again in SAFE MODE, restarted and the problem ceased to exist.

I hope this and your reply will help someone and save them from formatting thier pc.

    Thanks again!!
