where the heck is the zipped folder?

the other options offered seemed not to apply like compress and email...

image of window just prior to completion.

after completion clicking on its task bar window prompts to specify command in a tiny window.

opening 7-zip proper and searching "this pc" bears no fruit.

Have you inspected the content of CCA-all-7z ?

(Assuming you can still locate that)

Otherwise if you were creating a new .7z file it would be in the same folder.

By default it would be in the same folder as the files and/or folders you selected to add. If you wanted it somewhere else then you could have clicked the ... browse button to the right of the zip file name then select another folder.

found the CCA-all.7z in what appears to be an unzipped Icon

attempted to use transfernow.org paid account and it loaded as 12.3 KB instead of 46.2 GB

took hours to add to archive then had to search entire PC to locate

Thank you very much for your reply.

Suggest you try familiarising yourself with 7-zip with some small files in a couple of test folders.

It appears you tried with a very large file.

If you rt click CCA-all.7z, what does Properties tell you about it?

You could use everything, which is a very useful small free tool for finding files. I dont know how people manage without it.

enter *.7z in the search bar and sort by date newest at the top.

    - or just use Windows search in file explorer:

    ext:7z or *.7z

    Built in.

doesn't explain why the found filed are not shown to be "zipped" or have properties that do not appear compressed

    Two reasons:
When you compress a file or folder it creates a new file in the same folder with the same name but " .7z " extension and if you do not have the folders and files sorted by name you will probably have to scroll down to find the .7z extension.

7zip can work with many different file extensions but you have renamed the file to ".7zGUI" -- It has no idea what to do with this extension you can either rename it with the file extension of .7z or go into settings > Tools > Options and associate ".7zGUI" with 7zip. (NOTE: On a few occasions I have had to open 7zip as admin for it to make the changes.)
installed 7-zip msi, selected files to compress & chose add to archive-options.png

You should also be able open ".7zGUI" by right clicking and select open with -- then find 7zip program.
