PC seems to power off after being put to sleep

I've had a minor issue for a while whereby when starting up my PC after sleep, I'd hear the POST beep and see the windows loading screen, although when I got to the lock screen and logged in, my workspace and such were saved (similar to what happens if you put a computer to sleep and it loses power) - this was an interesting quirk but not very annoying.

Recently - perhaps after installing a windows update or perhaps after enabling Hyper-V so I could use WSL2 - when I turn the computer back on, it does a fresh boot. Digging into the Event Viewer logs a bit shows the critical failure:

"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."
    and
"The previous system shutdown at 9:49:25 AM on ‎6/‎29/‎2022 was unexpected."

That timestamp, though, isn't associated with any error logs.

When I have to chase a problem and have found an Event viewer entry,
    - I run NirSoft FullEventLogView,
    - Sort the results into date-time order,
    - Find the Event that I had previously found in Event viewer,
    - Look at the Events that were recorded just before it.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

    Welcome to TenForums.

It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.
    - At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
    - I download a new copy each month.
    - By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
    - Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
    - Both tutorial lists are searchable.
    - You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
    taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials

You can search TenForums using the search box in the top-right corner of all TenForums webpages or using Advanced Search - TenForums
    - You can also search TenForums threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
    - [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]

Thanks. Not sure exactly what I should be looking for, but here's a couple of things:

    - Windows boot environment failed to initialize TPM device. StatusCode: 0xC0000002, Position: 1.
    - Measured Boot library encountered a failure and entered insecure state. InitState: 1, StatusCode: 0xC0000001, Failure Address: 0x9823DF, Reference Address: 0xA94CA0, Reason: 1.

I dug a bit more into this, and the immediate change that triggered this issue was enabling Hyper-V via the BIOS so I could use WSL2 - for some reason this disables Hybrid Sleep, which was the feature that had been preventing me from losing my session. Fortunately hibernate still works so I've switched to using that.

I still don't know why my PC loses power when it goes to sleep, though.

1 Does it also happen for a new user account [even if you have to create one for test purposes]? Add Local Account ... - TenForumsTutorials
2 Does it also happen in Safe mode? Boot into Safe Mode - TenForumsTutorials

    If the answers are
    1 Yes
    2 No
then go to the relevant support site for the download then reinstall your display driver. Corrupted display drivers can generate a host of symptoms.
And check for any Bios updates as well.
