    Can't uninstall a program

I'm trying to upgrade to Windows 10, but it told me I need to uninstall Buffalo TurboPC EX Series. I looked in the uninstall a program screen, and couldn't find it. Is there a way to uninstall it?

I've been using the free version of Revo Uninstaller for years and have found it to be way more effective at removing programs than the Windows program remover. Revo offers 4 levels of program removal. I always use level 4 because it will find every hidden file related to the program you want uninstalled and it will safely remove them. Anytime you make changes to you computer, it doesn't hurt to create s system restore point first. You'll be glad you did, if you make a mistake. Revo may seem similar in appearance to the Windows program remover. Just click the program you want to remove, then click the Uninstall button in the top task bar. Follow the screen prompts and carefully read the instructions and you ought to be able to fully remove the program you've been having issues with. Here is a link to Revo Uninstaller. You can also read about Revo on CNET.

I downloaded Revo like you suggested (which DID help with some other irritating programs I had), but it also couldn't find Buffalo TurboPC EX Series... Is it called something else entirely or is my machine just bugging out?

An internet search produced UpdateStar as a possible alias.

Alternatively, try Sysinternals' Autoruns. It may list the aforementioned running process and where you can kill it forever. And if you are intrepid, you might want to kill off a few more unwanted processes. Be very careful!

Hmm....I'm surprised that REVO didn't uninstall it. Did you also try the "Hunter Mode"? If Pyramid100's suggestion didn't work, take a look at the link below. There ought to be something there that would help. I know this sort of thing can be a real pain. I've had issues like this before on my own computers. There always seem to be programs that will appear in Windows "Programs and Features" and also in REVO, as well as times when P&F doesn't show the program, yet REVO does. Have you tried doing a global search of your system to find out where this program resides? Very rarely, but sometimes, a program comes with its own uninstaller. I'd still prefer a program like REVO though because it removes every bit of an installed program.
