While using Photos Video editor, it hangs all of a sudden, but saves

    hi there

    Very frustrating..

While i am doing work on a small clip of 13 minutes, it already happened 20+ times that Video App froze and hang while adding subtitles to some split clips or during exports (only 1080p works for some reason). I had to force close the app. good that it saved all the work i have previously done.

I just tried re-registering apps with Powershell and clicked "Repair" for Photos.

I will try removing it and re-installing it and also click reset, not doing it now since it will lose all my storyline which took forever to create now.

    Anyne else with same issues?

While using Photos Video editor, it hangs all of a sudden, but saves-image.png

    thanks,
    Gab

    Hi there:

Would it be possible to disable (temporarily) Hardware Acceleration on your GPU?

    Try this:

Go to Device Manager -> Display Adapters -> double click on the name of your adapter -> Driver and Disable Device.

Windows 10 will now use generic drivers without hardware acceleration. Restart your PC and try exporting your video.

After that you can re-enable your GPU again (Simply reverse the steps above.)

    It's worth a shot.

    Kindly advise, thanks.

    hi,

i played around with things a little bit and installed new Intel Iris XE drivers from Intel website, earlier i had Asus' downloaded ones for the same and now it seems OK, no more crashes.

Earlier i disabled HW acceleration via registry but didn't seem to make any difference. Only after updating drivers i can see a difference now.

Just edited a clip, split parts, added subtitles, saved in 720p and 1080p, both ran fine.. hope it stays that way :)

    cheers,
    Gab

    @gabgab -

Have you exported your projects and uninstalled and then reinstalled Photos?

If that doesn't work there are some free programs out there that can be a substitute.
