How do I get rid of the popups that occur when I click on a Telegram l
How can I remove a browser association with Telegram in Windows 10?
When I click on certain links in either Chrome or Edge, the browser gives a popup to open Telegran Desktop. The popup says "This site is trying open URL:Telegram Link".
However, I have uninstalled Telegram (and it really should have taken that association with it, but that's neither here nor there at the moment) and I want to stop the popup from coming. Whenever I search on the web, I can only find how to remove file associations. However, those instructions don't work. I go to Settings -- Default Apps. I find Telegram Desktop in the list, but there's no way to delete it. If I open it, I can "Choose default". I can keep using the default it has or choose another option. No way to delete it! (How has MS not fixed this in 10 versions of Windows yet? So freakin' frustrating that everything takes hours and hours to do on Windows).
I found "Choose defaults by file type" and "Choose defaults by link type" (why would MS bury these at the bottom?), but can't find anything about Telegram in there.
In Chrome, I tried "chome://extensions", but cannot find anything for telegram in there. I haven't any idea where to look for associations in Edge, but I am reasonabliy sure this is an OS issue.
How do I get rid of the popups that occur when I click on a Telegram link?
Thanks.
