    Interesting.

It must be in the firewall configuration.

I run an older portable version as well, 5.79. But mine opens immediately.

Click desktop icon, instantly UAC pops up. Click UAC, and instantly CCleaner opens.

So no issue with Spybot/ hosts file then. Try clean installing Ccleaner then after backing up settings.

Personally I launch via an elevated shortcut to a batch file so there is no UAC.

Just for info. Not a suggestion.

I just disabled UAC all together.
First thing I do, after installing Windows...

    @Callender,

What are you actually Silently Importing > REGEDIT /S pathname?
What are in the REG files?

This is what I use in a Batch Script as part of my Automated Disk Cleanup [ Opens in Taskbar ] . . .

    Code:

    cd %ProgramFiles%\CCleaner & start CCleaner64.exe /auto

I'm using an older version with addtional winapp2.ini rules. I use the elevated desktop shortcut to the batch file to import reg files and launch Cccleaner. The reg files restore or disable a few features. I never figured out how to make it work using a single combined reg file so I use two of them.

    EDIT: More info.

I had the same issue as was reported here:

    CCleaner keeps reverting registry keys

Hence the need to import reg files. It's just easier to always import than wait for it to randomly revert settings.

Just a note to say that you can automate some stuff with free HDCleaner but there is no auto switch or single button cleanup.

I just use extensions to clean browsers every session and sometimes during a session.

    It is strange.

Although I do NOT use CCleaner that often [ Only when I run my Automated Disk Cleanup ], I do check the settings [ I have changed MANY ] occasionally and they never seem to change.

As I said previously, I just run the following command from a Batch Script . . .

    Code:

    cd %ProgramFiles%\CCleaner & start CCleaner64.exe /auto

Out of interest, how did you add the Firewall Rule to block outgoing connections from CCleaner please?

    Thanks.
