Is java still useable today?

I can't really think of anything that java is useful for these days, do you guys use this program, and if so, what do you use it for and why do you use it?

I stopped using Java a few years ago and no problems.

I have a couple application only running with java, But I don't install java anymore. I use Standalone Java, Javaw, Javas that I put directly in the applications folder, Since in additions they don't use the same version, it solves 2 problems at once. Both run and there's no java installed.

Think Android apps... heavily dependent on Java.

Surprisingly javascript is one of the most used.

There's a tendency toward slower easier to program platform than Much faster but harder to program ones, until it gets too vintage for uses. C++ and VBA among the fastest ones.

Java and JavaScript are entirely different programs and are not associated with each other.
