"Can't load ZNTPORT.SYS" message on old program

I have a program (Win_PP2.exe) that I use to burn EPROMs via may parallel port. Since upgrading to Windows 10 it will not work, stating "Error:Can't load zntport.sys".

I've tried running the program as an administrator and in Windows XP Compatability mode but the same error always occurs.

I do have a copy of ZNTPORT.SYS in my C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Drivers directory.

I have also tried installing an evaluation driver from Zeal SoftStudio. This just changed the error to an "invalid function" message.

Is there any way to get this software to find the required zntport.sys file and run normally?

There would be no harm in putting a copy in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers, even if the SysWOW64 folder is the 'proper' location.

I did try that, but still can't load ZNTPORT.SYS.

I have a feeling that this particular file is blocked by Windows as "incompatible". I am going to try to rename the file and reregister it on the machine to see if it will load, but I doubt that this will work.

try putting it in system32, not system32/drivers

This issue was never resolved, and I no longer need the solution.

The only solution that I found was to use an old Windows XP computer for that software.
