OK. Good luck with the repairs.

I probably said it before but do backup your Chuwi computer's drivers. Backup and Restore Device Drivers - TenForumsTutorials You cannot rely on Chuwi support.

My Chuwi's WiFi was so unreliable that I bought a USB WiFi to use instead.

I hope you ran Norton's dedicated uninstall tool. failing to do so can lead to bizarre symptoms even years later.

I hope you don't need to ask me about Tasks in Windows. I have always had MSOffice 2007 to manage Tasks and I have no idea how Windows itself might deal with them.

And my MPE IP address keeps changing n the phone all the time as well so I have to keep running it on the phone just to read its IP address then set that in the MPE on the computer. This never used to happen. It makes WiFi connecting almost worthless. Posted at MPE Phone client IP address keeps changing - MPEForum

    All the best,

Following my Windows Crash, and then clean Restore (by a professional) I lost many of my apps .I am now reinstalling them one by one. Now it is the turn of MPE but I have an immediate obstacle. When I try to launch it I get an error message regarding 'enough memory' ---, as shown here. I have done some searching and found there are a number of possible cause and cures. Are some of these more likely than others, with MPE

I'm sorry. I've never seen that or any similar error.

I couldn't find it mentioned in any MPE forum threads either.

I'd hazard the guess that the error message is not accurate. I'd guess that he application is not getting the responses from the OS that it expects and just leaps to a fairly standard error message.
I assume that your OS is up to date [including minor items such as .Net framework and any C++ updates that WU says you need].
I also assume your phone's MPE client is up to date and runs when you tell it to separately on the phone.

    All the best,

Perhaps you should also test the computer's MPE with the phone disconnected in the hope of proving if the computer's MPE software is at fault or it's something about its interaction with the phone client that is causing the error message.

I also suggest you turn off the settings
    - connect when MPE starts
    - run multi-sync when MPE starts / when the connection is made
to further help to isolate the cause.

The MPE FAQ page suggestions collecting a Debug-Log to post in their forum.
FJ Software :: Thema anzeigen - Howto and FAQ: Use Android Phones with MyPhoneExplorer

If you are going to try uninstalling then reinstalling MPE, it might be worth checking that the settings folder is empty after uninstallation in case a corruption there is the cause
    C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\MyPhoneExplorer
[Incidentally, I always back up that folder when MPE works correctly so I can restore it easily if there's a problem later. I also manipulate its files manually if I'm preparing its settings for a new phone.]

    Best of luck,
    Denis

MPE is now connecting, via WiFi again. I downloaded it, and for a few minutes thought it made no difference until I noticed I now had 2 icons on the desktop. I could not find two copies of MPE, but just deleted the old icon anyway and now it is running fine, in fact it seems a little more 'slick'. Thanks a lot for all your help.

Hello everybody, I have an issue with connecting MPE with my new cell (Android 12) but my old one (and I've tried my other family ones) is still good (Android 6 and other versions). I'm trying to use Bluetooth or USB and neither works. Honestly speaking I have a feeling that the issue is in Android 12 as it works on Windows 8.1 with my old cell as well but again doesn't work for a new cell. And it is not about a particular cell as I have 2 Android 12 cells (corp. and pers.) and neither does the job.
Any ideas? Thank you for any help.
P.S. I'm not planning to use WiFi, I need bluetooth or USB solution.

    Andrey[?],

I suggest you start a thread of your own on your problem.

In your description, confirm if the MPE client on the phone is installed & running before you try to connect by USB.
In your description, explain if you have enabled USB debugging on the phone and anything else that FJSoft recommend in their instructions.
In your description, explain exactly what happens when you try to connect by USB [does the computer recognise that a USB connection has been made, does the phone show a dialog for you to choose the type of connection, ...].
In your description, include the term @Try3 so I'll get notified that you've posted.

I'll only be able to help with USB connections. I don't think I have ever tried a Bluetooth connection for MPE.
    I have Android 11 not 12.

Might it be worth connecting by WiFi just in order to get it working before then re-attempting a USB connection?

    All the best,
    Denis

    Welcome to TenForums.

It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.
    - At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
    - I download a new copy each month.
    - By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
    - Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
    - Both tutorial lists are searchable.
    - You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
    taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials

You can search TenForums using the search box in the top-right corner of all TenForums webpages or using Advanced Search - TenForums
    - You can also search TenForums threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
    - [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]

MPE has been playing up again, refusing to connect

It is a pity some of us have these problems with MPE, as without them it would be such a valuable multi-functional app. But for me as long as they persist it cannot be relied on and have to 'double up' with one or other apps to ensure I do not lose an important function, for example at present I have 3 other messaging apps which I hoped to be able to reduce to 2.
