It's a realatively simple program that calls many routines already embedded in W10. An aggregator.

What are you trying to accomplish? Cleaning up the wrong things could cause problems.

Well I've used most "system cleaning" apps and they all work differently. As far as I can remember Glary doesn't offer "Analyse" so that you can check what is going to be removed beforehand by showing a file list.

Anyway watch this. Cccleaner (tweaked) vs HDCleaner vs HiBit Junk Files Cleaner. Then you have to know how to configure them and need to know what you should not be removing.

I reckon that I know your response. "I won't use CCleaner and I'll keep on using Glary"

Anyway there are loads of alternatives. If you must use these types of softwares just use something that you understand how to configure and always have a backup.

    None, they are all bloatware.
I have used several over the decades to come to that conclusion.

i tend to avoid use of these 3rd party apps unless I run into a problem that I cannot resolve using conventional measures.

Well the point of those apps is to prevent running into a problem in the first place. It is just like with the car, you can bring it to the service for a regular checkup or after it gets broken. In the end, it is your choice.

Still using CCleaner. Every day. No problems. Still works. Good tool for light cleaning.
Just did a test. Cleared cookies in Firefox.
It's amazing how fast they repopulate!

No snake oil cleaners for me. Firefox has the ability to clean cache and cookies if I need that.
