Some web pages not displaying fonts correctly: at a loss here

The only exception is my modified verion of Firefox which displays fonts correctly. And yes, ALL my drivers et al are current. Everything is current. I verified with the manufacturer and Windows Update.

I have Win10 installed (I haven't been upgraded to to 11 yet). I have a Lenovo laptop and NVIDIA 1060i video card. I tried using the integrated graphics card with NVIDIA disabled and I still have the same issues for certain sites. However, even on a 2013 Windows 7 and my work laptop the issue isn't present. It doesn't matter what browser I use except the modified FF browser.

Has anyone seen this before? I'm attaching a screen print.

    Hmm...

Does your desktop and other installed applications render properly?

Yes. And that's what's so darn puzzling. I went through the steps to reset the Font cache, but that didn't help. One of the steps was to disable Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache 3.0.0.0 in Windows Services, but it wasn't present.

I ran an SFC and DISM, tried to repair .Net Framework even though I had no errors.

But now my Windows don't behave properly when I want to see Windows side-by-side. Windows from various apps now open maximized when I select "show windows side-by-side|.

This new after trying various fixes. However, aside from all browsers but my modified Firefox (for privacy) all browsers have this font issue including a new vanilla FF browser.

Have a look in the browser console on a page with rendering issues to see if any errors are logged that may give a clue to what is happening - CTRL + SHIFT + J

No errors. I just tried with several different Chromium browsers and Firefox portable which has no modifications.

I think I know what might be happening. I checked with Firefox and the affected font is Arial with a weight of 300. I am unable to delete the font(s) because Windows says it's protected system font.

I think the Arial font is corrupt. It's a system font which is protected.
