    Start using Zoom for non-business

I am tripping over what I think should be simple. I have signed up for Zoom I have downloaded the Zoom app for Windows10. I can hold a meeting with myself and turn the video and audio on and off.

All of the instructions I can find for inviting people to a meeting seem to involve some external contacts list. I use Hotmail. I do not want all of my Hotmail contacts imported into Zoom because I do not intend to zoom most of these contacts. I just want to use it for meeting with friends and family. I do not have some corporate mail list that I want to tie to.

I have not found any instructions that work for this. I "invited" my husband to test it today. First by trying to put a contact into zoom with the plus key (didn't work as shown on the information I have, which I finally figured out meant that he was not in some company directory that does not exist), then by sending him an email with a number that Zoom said was the meeting number. He could not click on it and come to the meeting.

How do I do this? Thank you!

I have been using Zoom (non-business) since this silliness started going on 2 years ago. I don't host many meetings, as I have nothing intelligent to say, but as far as inviting people, I just send them an email with the meeting number and password in the text. I know there is a way to get a clickable link but I have never used that option myself.

Keep in mind that if you have more than one invite, Zoom (free version) only gives you 40 minutes (at least they did have a time limit, not sure now) and your invite will have to re-join after they get booted off.
