However, I value being able to attach files to secure notes in Dashlane, so would miss that unless Roboform offers it, too?
    Please see list, post #17.

One thing you cannot do in the [Roboform] web app, or in the standalone app for that matter, is generate a new password.
Sorry, don't understand the comment- it's relatively easy to generate a password either from the icon in the browser toolbar or the tray. There are options e.g. length, and which class of characters are to be included.

Is that a wise choice? Anyway, everyone uses a password manager whether they are aware of it or not. In your case, you have opted to make yourself the password manager.

    * Can you guarantee that you never use the same password twice?
    * Do you use extra strong, unique passwords for every single login?
    * How do you manage having to remember all of your sensitive data without ever writing them down in physical form?
    * Can you attach and secure files to the data entries in your head?
    * Is all of your sensitive data 256 bit encrypted (military grade)?
    * How do you monitor the web, and dark web, for instances of breaches or compromise?
    * Do you always use the same email address and user name for all of your logins, or unique ones?
    * Do you always use multi-factor authentication and security key?
    * Do you never use your browser to remember sensitive data or auto-complete?
    * How do you securely allow access to your sensitive data to a trusted person in the event of emergencies such as incapacitation?

If you can do all of that, you are a most excellent password manager indeed, and I salute you.

That's of interest to me and, as I am about renew my subscription to Dashlane Premium, I'm now considering a switch. However, I value being able to attach files to secure notes in Dashlane, so would miss that unless Roboform offers it, too?

I also found the following very recent comment on Toms Guide:

Do you have any comment about that? I'd appreciate it, thanks.

This may be correct. Not sure about now. Many web sites I log into have varying requirements for "special characters". That makes it more difficult to know their requirements beforehand. In my situation that is.

OK, I see the so called "informed" review comment I posted was wrong from a supposedly a respected reviewer. Cheers for clarifying that.

However, I am not sure that you understand what I meant about being able to attach files to secure notes in Dashlane. I mean literally. I can create a secure note with any textual content and then attach any file type, including video and audio, to the note I just created, and then lock it securely obviously. I see from your pic above that Roboform offers Safenotes, and I already knew that. But can you also attach files to those notes? Your pic doesn't show that. And you do not mention that function as available in post #17.

I would post a screenshot of this but Dashlane forbids screenshots. There is a paperclip symbol at the top right of each note to represent the attachment option. I've just realised this is on the Android version of Dashlane only, not Windows. I cannot speak for other operating systems.

It's an awesome feature that I find very useful in lots of circumstances. Sometimes, I just use an image with no text, for example.

AFAIK Roboform does not support files being attached.

To do so would imply an arbitrarily large amount of data potentially being synched between devices. It's not designed for file sharing- that's what cloud services do.

    Here's the online manual-

There's no implication of that and neither does any sync happen. Files attached are local only. Remember, this an Android only function. Dashlane's PC browser software does not offer attaching files. Obviously, that negates any excessive data uploads on sync.

    I know, thanks.

The only reason that mentioned this file attachment function at all is in the context that it is a very useful feature for me and also many other folk, or it would not be there.

Note making can take many forms. Audio is a very useful one. I can make a quick audio note into my invisible (under my beanie) in-ear phones and later simply attach it to a locked secure note in Dashlane. It's just another way of taking notes, and much easier than typing stuff. The same goes for images, even videos. Cross-referencing is also a cinch, adding supporting docs, such as PDFs, etc. Multiple attachments can be applied to one secure note. My secure notes in Dashlane contain an enormous volume of information that I need to reference later. I should add that the entire content of my 64GB phone's storage amounts to only 45GB or so, including mostly apps. I keep it lean and mean. No massive piles of any type of data. Only just what I need. The ability to be able to generate one note from multiple, multi-media sources is simply awesome! And I like my private life to be just that; private. It is. I especially like the support for biometrics and MFA for secure access.

All in all, the above is something that I have grown into making great use of and it makes an otherwise complicated, data-dependent life a breeze, securely.

It's just something that Dashlane happens to offer that really is a massively useful thing to have available for anyone so inclined. The number of times when out and about that I have needed quick access to data in support of real needs for specific data is steadily mounting, just as life trickles on, quite normally. It just makes everything complex very simple. Great personal backup whenever required.

Quick Roboform question. When you get Roboform and they have you agree to their privacy policy's, etc, are they also giving your info to their other "partners" so they can call you or spam you or even worse? All of the programs now seem to make you agree to this especially their Android apps!

    @MPSAN
I believe I have been using Robofm PM Manager for 3+ years. Pretty sure I had to agree to their use of data etc.
But I do not believe I have received any spam or email from suspected sources. Could change tomorrow I suppose though.

OK...I will look again. I hope the Android Phone App does not make you agree to that! So many managers like 1password, etc and they all have something!
