Can't run any apps or downloads due to Microsoft popup app window

    Windows 10 Home v 20H2, OS Build 19042.1415
Dell XPS 8940 Tower 10th gen Intel Core i7-10700
    Dell XPS58940-7262BLK-PUS

After a recent MS grade I can no longer run any apps or download links.

I keep getting a MS popup window that says:

"The app you're trying to install isn't a Microsoft-verified app."

There are three check off items that follow, None of which does anything when I click on them.

    1. Get apps from Store

    2. Install anyway

    3. Change my app recommendation settings >

    How can I fix this?

Check your setting under Windows Settings>Apps>Apps & Features>Choose where to get apps. Mine is set to "Anywhere". HTH.

I have the same problem recently. Using this method works but does not explain why the windows 10 setting otherwise does *not* work. I click on "install anyway" and nothing happens. I click on "Change my app recommendation settings" and nothing happens. I think this is a useful feature but am at a loss why it does not work.

BTW, I did run an sfc /verifyonly and it came up clean.

    thanks,

Shawn - Not sure if this will help, but you might want to check Windows Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Apps and browser control > Reputation-based Protection Settings to see if something is turned on there that may be preventing you from installing.
