Is Windows Contacts used any more?

What's the use of the contacts folder C:\Users\myName\Contacts?. I guess this folder keeps the contacts for the People and Mail apps. Apparently Windows 11 still features it.

Does this app has any other use? Isn't it mostly useless?

Contacts is a legacy folder, presumably still there for backwards compatibility.

Nothing to do with the Mail and People Apps which I use several times daily with 6 Email Accounts.

    Hello @Frank15,

As Helmut has mentioned, Contacts is a Legacy folder, and I believe it also incorporated into Win 11. It makes sense to have cross platform backwards compatibility.

    I hope this helps

Also, Contacts can be used to Import saved files such as Exported from older Outlook Express and the Windows Address Book.
