Why doesn't this command work?

    That can only be done if you are absolutely certain you understand what you are doing, and take due precautions (backups/imaging).

    It is true that Revo Uninstaller 4 Free and Pro support removing UWP apps, but this is unlikely to help with old versions.

    It is also true that Windowsapps can include what appear to be old versions of apps, and in some cases become very large for no apparent useful reason.

    Programs like Wiztree (free) give you a good view of what's there and the ability to delete items:

    That's what I did in the end. I used TreeSize to view the folder, used the Take Ownership reg file fix on this forum to take ownership and then just deleted the duplicated old folders. I had to reinstall the Mail app in one account but all works fine. I wish Microsoft would do a better job of cleaning up the c:\program files\ windowsapps folder.
