    What is flexnetconnectsdk?

This .exe has been in my Downloads folder a long time, maybe since I got the computer in Sep. 2013. It has a copyright of 2006 from Macrovision. I searched for it online, but not being a programmer/developer, I don't have a clue what those descriptions/explanations are talking about. The latest date I see associated with it is Sep. 2013. Apparently it can't be uninstalled, but if it can be deleted, is it safe to do that? Thanks.

    Hi,

FlexNet Manager Suite allows organizations to calculate an accurate license compliance position and streamlines license management processes through automation. Software reuse, through automated license reclamation, helps defer new license purchases.

MaloK, thanks for responding. Sounds like something I can safely delete. Any idea how this would have gotten onto my machine? I had it custom built, but the people who built it would have had no reason to believe I needed this thing. Thanks again.

You probably don't need it anymore, since your computer is not in a managed environment. Your OEM may use that to accelerate Windows licensing process on their assembly line.

Flex net is one of many license/product/purchase manager systems in relation to ICE. In fact in security/public safety/policing ... have a system called FLEX with a counter measure called ICE. Usually focused around Cyber Security ( I assume ) . However you maybe want to keep that in cold storage for later if you or another person wants to check it out.

Most likely a person installed a program that demanded that service to be installed

X-box live, and Live Windows game is a great way to police/boot a person from a server when they do something they are not suppose to be using it for.

It also saves time because it automatically registers the software into a database. Many programs stop asking this nowadays.

A great example ( without installing anything ) is that windows have tons of IPs that call backs to it's servers in the mid-west but blocking those will send the same message to servers in England ( like why we have those tacky police shields all over our Windows icons ). If windows had lame US Police badges instead of English ones I am pretty sure people would not even want to touch windows.

Thanks again, and to Daymin also. Is it safe to execute this thing and see what it does? Also, I'll probably delete it and leave it in my Recycle Bin for awhile.

Maybe I would scan it with virustotal or even Malewares Bytes ???

Otherwise I would checkout the program vender and research it online before hand.

Thanks to both. I'll put this thread to bed now.
