    Font size in Corel Photodraw

This is a personal problem but there might be a general answer I could apply?
I have used Corel Paint and Draw for years but getting ready to design my annual Christmas card, I have found the font size on the menu bars too small now for me to read them without the Magnifier setting, (Rather clumsy I must say! The defunct magnifying Glass was better.)

I can't find anything on the Corel information that can modify that particular layout of their menus. Am I missing something? Even being able to temporarily zoom in/out on the text labels in a bar would be useful

Hi Snugglebugs, have you seen this option:

Of course this is also up to the version of CorelDraw and still applies to both Draw and Paint.

Mine is Home & Student 2018 and that item is not in the options, unless it is buried where I can't see it.

If this issue is due to a recent change to a high resolution monitor then there are several methods to correct this ...

Often the application UI will be automatically adjusted but the windows intema ( used in menus and popups) will not be rescaled

More information on the options is here ...

I will try that suggestion, but will have to take it slow to see what happens. Fisrt I've heard of those options!
I have tried the first suggestion and will see if it works.

Yes, I do have a big monitor that I bought recently to help my eyesight. 3440 x 1440 set at 100%. Advanced scaling settings now says Let Windows try to fix apps so thy're not blurry - On.
Don't know what the DPI setting was or is now.

Increasing the resolution of the screen results in the pixels becoming smaller. the algorithms used in windows take the pixel size as being fixed and uses this size to produce the text in their menus and internal text. there are more modern applications that are resolution aware and will adjust the size of the font requested from windows, to suit the screen resolution.

Of course older applications are not resolution aware. Windows does now have it's own system to resize the text although the algorithms used are still in need of improvements.

If all else fails the best way to give larger more readable text is to set the screen to FHD - 2K rather than UHD - 4K which will actually increase the text size to your previous monitor's setting but display larger on the larger screen
