    Path Issue (I think)

I used CCleaner on my Win10 computer. Everything works afterwards, but:

I'm trying to work with Python. I uninstalled the version I had and reinstalled it (3.10). It installs OK, but the installation seems weird. For one, it's not in my "Program Files" or "Program Files 86" folder. Instead, it's in the C:\users\....\appdata\local\Programs\Python\Python310 folder.

So I tried to update the path with this location. BUT now when I go to Cmd and type path I get two sets of paths, which are identical.

And more: Even though the path does point to the Python310 folder, if I go to the C:\ prompt and type Python, I get a dialog box from Microsoft Store for Python 3.9. (NOTE: I got rid of this by going to the Admin console, then powershell, then pasting this: Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Remove-AppxPackage

That works for the MS Store issue.

If I go to the location on the path and type Python, it works as expected.

How do I 1) edit the path to get rid of the duplicate entries? I have tried to do this several times and while I seems to work it doesn't. If I look at the path in the Edit Environmental Variable dialog box, the path is correct, no duplicates. But again if I type path >path.txt at the command prompt I get the path doubled.

SECOND EDIT: I rebooted and that (for some reason) eliminated the duplicated path entries. BUT still, even though I think python.exe is on the path, if go to a command prompt and type python<ret> nothing happens. Only if I go to the location where python.exe is can I run it.

    What to do?
THANKS AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY IF YOU ARE CELEBRATING.

I removed python.exe from the path variable and that worked. Problem solved.
