Old Software Favorites - No Longer an option?

    Windows 10 (latest updates)

Hi there. Where does good software go when it's time is up? Perhaps with the E.T. Atari carriages in a landfill somewhere in the mid-west!

    RE: Macromedia Freehand

I used to dabble a bit in graphic design. I found a few .FH11 (also .FH10, but i didn't have that ver) graphics files on my HDD and realize i no longer have access to running Macromedia Freehand to open them. I think there are apps which will read a Freehand file (Irfan view, or something shows a sort of summary image, but not really. i'm sure someone who's reading this, who's old as dirt like me knows exactly what i'm talking about with the "preview" images.)

It had some really cool design features. I think it was vector graphics.

Do you know of any "drawing" (graphic design, etc) apps that can open, AND edit a .FH11 file?

I'm doubting I can install the old "Macromedia" suite on here, not to mention no install media.

Cool! I will check that out! I'm pretty sure I used to use Scribus on Linux desktops years ago, likely for that very reason. I recall it being fairly friendly at the time, and that was probably 15 yrs ago. I see there is a Windows version now as well. :)

    Muchas gracias!

Macromedia had some pretty cool apps back in the day when apps were clever.

I thought Goo was the most fun.
