App Installer Says MY Windows Version is unsupported

Nearly every week, when installing a new application, or application upgrade, I get a pop-up saying that my Windows 10 version is unsupported. Some say I need 1809 or newer.

    ... but I have 20H2 (per winver.exe).

This is very frustrating. Sometimes retrying right after a fresh boot works... but not always.

Where is this wrong version information coming from? I've search Bro' Google, and not found anything of help.

    Thank you!

Is this thread a remake of your previous one please
Program installer fails, wants 1809 or greater ... I have 20H2

by that I mean, is this the same particular app or app upgrade as was the subject of the previous thread
If so the answer will be the same, as it was on that earlier thread

If it is now a general problem - even with store apps then it does require further examination.

Your details on THIS thread do not make it clear

I completely forgot my previous posting, but now I have two additional installers that bear this problem... Configure Defender and DefenderUI.

What I didn't realize before, is that a complete reboot, followed by installation attempt, ususally works. So that the comment in the other thread about version format seems not to apply.

I'm puzzled by why a reboot would resolve the installer failure. This is a nuisance. None of my Windows upgrades/updates have been an issuse (so far, anyway).

    OK... Not perfect...

    Code:
    & : The term
' . \ resources\main.psl' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable
program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.
    At line: I char: 2
    + & ' .\resources\main.psl'
    + Category Info
    + FullyQua1ifiedErrorId
    ObjectNotFound: (.\resources\main.psI:String) [ ] ,

You can open the image (above) in its own browser tab, and expand ... very legible.

    Please review the procedure
for running the log collector I tend to think you have clicked on the wrong item,

Click on the Download button below.

    Download
    .
Save log collector V2 log collector 1.1x.zip to where (downloads for example) you want.
Right click on V2 log collector 1.1x.zip in the Downloads folder and select Extract all. This will create a V2 log collector 1.1x folder.
Open the V2 log collector 1.1x folder and double click on the log-collector shortcut.
A Command Prompt window will open with the Ten Forums Log Collector running in it. Press the Enter key to start the collection process.

I did that. It doesn't run, and I get the error posted. Even tried Run As Administrator. I have tight security settings FWIW.

I do not think you did follow it exactly
Open the V2 log collector 1.1x folder and double click on the log-collector shortcut.

OR you have not extracted the files first from the downloaded log collector
