    What is the best hard drive partition software?

    I use macrium reflect for images and backups of my system but i need something to partition hard drives, convert them etc.

    I was using disk director but have moved away from acronis after trouble with true image.

    I don't mind paying for it as long as it's one time fee.

    Thanks in advanced.

    @David9723

    And, since the free version on Minitool Partition Wizard, will not let you make a boot version,
    here is a Dropbox link to Minitool Partition Wizard 11 Technician, ISO.
    You can burn this to a CD or use Rufus to make a bootable USB stick.

    I used to use EaseUS Partition Master Free. They ask for a email account but it means nothing, you can put anything you like.

    Previously it could be downloaded as a single program but now EaseUS has bundled it with a heap of their other demo freeware(backup, data recovery etc) so I've flicked them.

    My go-to partition freeware is now AOMEI Partition Assistant freeware version

    I would suggest Aomei or Diskgenius which is a bit more technical in appearance and does things that others cant

    Builtin windows disk management for simple partition extends.

    Aomei for quick partition moves. (such as moving the boot partition to the beginning of the drive so I can extend the primary partition to fill a new larger drive) Used to like EaseUS, but then they started bundling a bunch of crap so switched to Aomei.

    Paragon if I need to do some serious tweaking, such as setting up Dell/HP recovery partitions, etc.

    Back in the day I used Ranish Partition Manager, which is DOS based and pretty badass for its time.

    even FOSS linux based tools such as gparted (included on partedmagic) are capable of doing the majority of partitioning tasks, but can have a higher learning curve, as they are geared towards a more technical mind.

    "Best tool" is pretty subjective, as it really depends on what you plan to use it for, simple move/extend or your a power user that needs to control partition ID's, block sizes, etc. after that, it comes down to personal preference on what you find easier to use. Some prefer a wizard that guides them through the process, some like to be handed a toolbox and decide what to do and which order to do it in.
