    it don't work
    doesn't help

Audacity is running well on my systems, one Home and one Pro - both x64.

Are you also running Line 6 - there are reported issues on that software & Win10.
There are a few posts on Audacity forums with the same issue you reported here.

Thank you very much for your answer.

    I have found 2 solutions:
    - without driver update, it is possible to use Audacity v2.0.3
    - with driver update, all is ok, Audacity v2.1.1 works perfectly on Windows 10
The second solution is obviously the best

In my case, it was a Realtek driver.
I installed the R2.79 new version of the driver, and ok, here we go again!!

Most of the solutions involve getting the correct driver for the sound card.

I hope it's that easy for you as well.

    Good luck.

    32-bit Windows 10 Pro - Build 1607/14393.51

I reinstalled Audacity after the W10 "Reset this PC" option was needed...2.1.0, and just updated to 2.1.1.

I have no sound card driver issues there or otherwise.

Don't know what the sound card is...it came with the Dell Latitude E6400 and shows up as "High Definition Audio Device", whatever that means.

Who is the provider of the driver you have currently installed? You can see that in the Device Manager, doubleclick on the Audio Device, go to "Driver".

Anyway, still in the Device Manager, doubleclick on the Audio Device, go to details and then select "Hardware-IDs". This is a unique identifier of the model, which is in your PC. There are websites, where you can look up, what your Hardware-ID actually is!

Microsoft. Looks like it came in/got configured with my initial W10 install on 8/1.

I'm not really going to mess with this any further, since it does work fine in Audacity and everywhere else!
