How fo find Album Media Player Lost?

I have several folders in "Music." The contents all come from CDs I own. Suddenly, tonight a folder for one artist with at least four album directoreis in it vanished. i can't find it by searching for an album name or the artist. I played one of the CDs to get it ripped. Windws Media Player says it was ripped but does not show up in my Music directory. I made sure that the box under view for Hidden Items was checked. I closed File Explorer and re-opened it. That made no difference. I've never seen anything quite like this. I have no idea how to solve it. Suggestions please. Thanks.

Have you restarted the PC?
Have you searched for the Artist &/or Album name/s?
Do you have any other drive connected (external hard drive, SD card, USB thumb drive)? Have you checked this drive?
Check OneDrive to see if the Album/s are shown there. It may have been uploaded to cloud storage.

HI Bastet,

Thanks for your response. I have rebooted my computer. I never use OneDrive but I checked there too. I used File Exploer to do a search on my PC for the album name and separately for the first nameof the artist. Nohting on C or D. Since I ripped the CD agan last nigjh it's very perplexing that is it not showing up anywhere. It's as though the Media Player decided that, no, it's not storing any ripped musi8c anymore, even though it did the ripping. I've never seen this before.

How long ago did you originally rip the CD? If it was recently I wonder if the PC has automatically rolled back/recovered & therefore deleted the album/s.
I would backup the Albums you have either manually or begin using disk imaging software to backup the drives.

Thanks for your reply. Windows magically added the artist and the album back into WMP. I"m glad for that but after over twenty years as a programmer, it bothers me that somehow, software didn't work and then it suddenly did. Anyway, I will mark this as solved.

You can right-click on a track in WMP & select Open file location.

Are these albums now in the same place as they were before?

Perhaps you have an intermittent disk failure.
