    Downloads from NZB files

This about my Windows 7 PC. My windows 10 PC got hit by lighting yesterday. It wiped out my big screen tv, my Windows 10 pc and a lot of other stuff (SOB).

I download a lot of files from NZB files and now my Sabnzbd software does not want to connect to the server I have been using on my Windows 7 PC. The server is still good.

All these people that provide software to do this function no longer care about Windows 7 even though millions of people are still using windows 7. Sabnzbd says to use "Sabnzbd Standalone Legacy", but that does NOT seem to work either.

Is there a good substitute that will work on Windows 7 and where to get it?

Speaking to only that I have to agree and it's mainly the businesses I've seen using proprietary software such as medical, dental and animal clinics and those who have to deal with clients using older software such as QuickBooks and don't want to upgrade yet. But I've seen mentioned that it is possible for them to pay Microsoft for extended support, most consumers probably can't afford that. When using attached devices such as X-Ray it becomes quite expensive to change.

An alternate solution would be to check if similar software is available for Linux which most versions are free, just need a computer to put it on and most requirements are less than for Windows. I have Linux Mint on an old Dell Inspiron 580 Desktop and a Notebook that can't run the last 3 or 4 Versions of Win10 due to only 32GB storage and not replaceable.

You didn't mention which version of SABnzbd you are currently using but the last version that works with Windows 7 is 3.2.0 due to some updated Python dependency.

Since I no longer have a paid usenet subscription I tested with a free usenet server Aioe.org - Home. I was able to connect but as it's a free server it has no binaries newsgroups.

Back in the days of United Forums.uk, Merlin's Portal and NZB Matrix I paid for NewsLeecher. Sorry to hear about your electronics getting zapped happened to me about 15 years ago.

Can't believe Usenet is still a thing.

ClippyBeer, I have some searching and can NOT find how to download version 3.2.0. If you know how to get it, I sure would appreciate it.

    Thanks

Thanks ClippyBeer, but 3.2.0 does NOT work on Windows 7.

It does for me. This screenshot is of my PC with Windows 7 SP1 x64 running SABnzbd 3.2.0 from the link I provided.

It would be helpful if you could tell us what error message you are getting. Better yet, you should probably join their forum and post your question there for faster response.
