Onedrive refuses to let me sign in. It only let me sign in once.

I have a new Windows 10 laptop. I just started using Onedrive on it. I was able to sign in once. But ever since then, it refuses to let me sign in. Here's the error: https://i.imgur.com/SOX5h0Z.png

I put in my username and my password, and then it tells me my folder location is the default folder location, so I have to remind it where my folder is actually located. Then I click 'Next' and it says "There was a problem signing you in. Please try again in a few minutes."

This doesn't make any sense at all. Does anyone know what's going on?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, I can. No problem there.

Just to follow up: ridiculously, the desktop app will let me log in if I tell it (falsely) that my folder location is the default folder location. Then it will start downloading files into the default folder location -- exactly where I don't want the files to go. But if I change it to my actual folder location (as far as I know, the only way to do that is to 'Unlink this PC' and log out and log back in), it once again refuses to let me sign in.

This seems insane. Am I missing something?

That is precisely the reason why I gave OneDrive the flick - Microsoft's obsession with wanting to control what it thinks the user wants, rather than letting the user make his/her own decision. Even though the settings can be change, OneDrive's default options, that Microsoft wants to force on the user, are off and running, moving/copying files before you know what happens.

Yes, you can make changes, but then have to go through the annoying process of undoing what's already been done.

And .... I'm not altogether unsure that OneDrive wasn't reset back to those unwanted default settings, during some of the major updates. I certainly didn't do it, so .....

The only time I use it now is directly accessing the web site, and only to access files between remote devices, certainly never for backup.

Delete/move files from the default location, then it should ask you, where you want it for good.

By the way, onedrive can use 3 locations: appdata, programfiles and programfilesx86.
It is possible, that it was updated and got confused. Check your shortcut's link.

Unfortunately, that didn't work. The same thing as always happened when I deleted all the files from the default location folder. And then the same thing as always happened when I deleted the default location folder itself.

I'm not sure what you're suggesting I do. My link is here: C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive\OneDrive.exe
