Default Programs Editor? Shouldn't be necessary if you really have Winamp installed.

I decided on a small, no-install 3rd party app (that dalchina suggested in an old post I found.
I surmised that was a post I (dalchina) wrote about Autoplay that suggested a "small, no-install 3rd party app" (Default Programs Editor) that amongst other things allows the addition of programs to the Autoplay list.

Ok, well, as I've shown you my Winamp installation shows up in Autoplay.

I asked if yours showed up in Open With, to see if you have it installed and registered as a potential default for video and audio files.

Another place you should see it, for example, is thus:

If it doesn't show up there, then maybe it needs reinstalling.

yes, it does show up there and all my files (flac, mp3, ape etc) are associated to the app as when cliked on the app starts and they have the little winamp icon displayed on the file/thumbnail.

Good- so it seems that it's just the autoplay options you've lost.
This PC doesn't even have a DVD/CD drive and the option is there..

I have no explanation for you - this very very old link shows that people had this problem in the past.

If you can fix it using Default Programs Editor- so much the better. Otherwise you could consider reinstalling Winamp.

This PC = my PC = the one I'm using right now doesn't even have a DVD/CD drive = there is no CD/DVD drive only ports and the option is there.. =Winamp is shown in Autoplay as per my screenshot (even though I don't have a physical drive).
