I just realized I had LibreOffice Portable on a USB thumb drive. Had downloaded it a year ago, maybe for a problem file, I don't recall. But it opened the .wps file I was working on. I'm going to install LibreOffice and start using it.
I noticed it can save in Word 2007 - 365 (.docx) and Office Open XML Text (.docx). What's the difference between these two?
That I haven't checked out, most times in sharing files I need to use .doc of 97-2003 for older machines or .docx for 2007 and later. What I see on Office Open XML Text at DuckDuckGo is a more complex situation that most users will need.
