    Store app

Am bit baffled. I know a new version of Store app got inflicted upon us 2 or 3 days ago. two of our PCs updated with the new app but my main machine is not getting it. Curious why MS is 'rolling out/drip feeding' an app update? Said machine reports all apps up to date when forcing a manual search but is still Version 12105.1001.23.0

    Hello Scottyboy99 ,

I'm not sure why mine wasn't updated either, but I just went to the Microsoft Store and updated it manually from there.

My store version is now: 12105.1001.23.0 - are you suggesting that's not the latest version for Windows 10?

There's a brand new version for Windows 11 released a few days ago, as I understand.

Hi Steve. Thanks for the reply. No it's not the latest version, there is a newer version (I forget the version number now, something like 12107.etc etc ) which our other 2 machines have received (even our Xbox store app updated too). That is why I am perplexed. Why some machines get it earlier than others. It's just an app. I know Windows features updates are rolled out/drip fed but why for an app? Little frustrated. On our apple devices if an app update is available it is available for all devices but it is not necessarily the case with Microsoft.

    thanks,
    Wayne

From Windows11 Forum: (not sure if this is related at all, but number looks similar to what you mentioned)
Microsoft Store new UI | Windows 11 Forum
    C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.WindowsStore_22107.1401.4.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\WinStore.App.exe

Are the two PCs with newer version you mentioned running Windows 10 also?

I checked a second Windows 10 2004 PC here and it has the 12105.1001.23.0 version too.

    Hi Wayne,
Okay, so I went to a third Windows 10 2004 PC and updated it via Microsoft Store app and now it has Microsoft Store version 12107.1001.1.0, so Microsoft must be rolling this change out gradually as you suggested.

If you didn't try updating the app from within the Microsoft Store app itself, that might be worth a try as that's how I updated the 3rd PC to 12107, but 1st PC only updated to 12105 and I didn't try updating the 2nd PC.

Thanks for your feedback. I have been trying to update the third pc all weekend to the newest store app via manual check for updates within the store app itself. It just never finds it. Always comes back that all
apps are up to date. This is what is frustrating because it seems to be a roll out which I don’t get why MS plays this game. It’s an app not a big feature update. But at least it’s good that others like yourself are confirming this. I start to think there is something wrong with my main machine.

I have noted similar app roll out behaviours before I think. I am sure a couple of the PCs have gotten app updates to photos app long before my main one. I just don’t get why that happens.

all our machines are windows 10 latest public version. I don’t do any insider stuff so no machine has the jump on any of the others.

    thanks
    Wayne

    Hi Wayne,
Well I got another old dino PC of mine to update to 12107.1001.1.0, but my main PC like yours is still stuck on 12105 - and leave it up to microCrap to tell me on two different PCs that the M$ Store App update failed, even though it succeeded.
