The more the CCleaner gets new update versions the more the CCleaner has more bugs and that's my opinion. I'm switched from CCleaner to BleachBit

I stopped using it a long time ago. When AVAST purchased Piriform all went downhill.

    Hello @f23948,

You can either use a previous more stable version, or use the Portable version. To be honest, there is VERY LITTLE differences in the different versions, and for the number of times that it gets run, I do NOT think it is worth the trouble of having the latest version.

    I hope this helps.

I just use an older version and launch it from a shortcut to a batch file that imports reg files to remove the bloat. Then I update rules via winapp2.ini

I'm not currently using Bleachbit but see:

Choosing between ccleaner and bleach bit is like choosing between snake venom and rat poison.

I don't want either one. I don't need either one.

They serve no purpose ... unless you think that self-inflicted pain is a purpose.

Those poisons are actually used to treat other problems like cancer, Windows in this case.

The same, Avast tries to implement as much telemetry as possible, that is theirs main focus, not CCleaner.

If using an older version (I always get SLIM Build anyway) you can update the cleaning rules. I typically run Ccleaner very often, usually after every browsing session.

Update rules. See second video here. Click "three dots" then Play.

The first video shows that Ccleaner can be launched via a shortcut to a batch file that removes the bloat.

True if you don't understand how to use and configure them. Otherwise there's no problem.

    New go-to "cleaner" ...

Wise Disk Cleaner (just use default installations settings)

ccleaner ... still good for duplicate file checking (and that's all !!!)
