Cant download ms Store aaps_Microsoft Store Error Code: 0x80131500

    Dell Latitude 7380 8gb Windows 10 Pro

    Hi all..

Occasionally i download one of ms store apps,to use on my system,..not had many issues with it,though i know it can be glitchy..

Just tried to download a small app for the taskbar, and received following error..

Page cannot be loaded, please try again later > Error Code: 0x80131500

    Fixes ive tried

Dism restore health + filechecker (no issues
    wsreset.exe- didnt work.
deleted the contents of the download directory and the datastore directory in
    c:\windows\softwaredistribution -didnt work
Ran Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter - Suggested turning on UAC

Uninstalled and Reinstalled the store from command..

    Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Remove-AppxPackage (no problem..

    Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -
    DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

Above command results in a "Unable to find path to user folder, because it doesnt exist,(which it does),..

    Any advice gratefully received,..thanks

    Hi,
Ran Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter - Suggested turning on UAC
    - and is UAC on or had you disabled it?

    wsreset.exe- didnt work.
    - do you mean there was an error, or that it completed successfully and didn't help?

Have you changed any permissions e.g. to the Windowsapps folder?

Similar here - which lists ideas that don't work...so can be skipped.

Please create a new account for test purposes. Log in as that user.
Do you see the same problem, or not?
(If not = an in-place upgrade repair install is not likely to help)

This is a useful diagnostic test, also suggested in the link I quoted.

You can try changing your DNS as here:

Are you using a VPN or proxy server? Check

    Hi Dalchina

    Thanks for the comprehensive response,..

    To answer your questions..

Yes i have disabled UAC ,..but it never stopped downloading from the store before, ill try turning it on.temporarily..

With wsreset.exe,..yes,it completed successfully but didn't help

I havnt changed any permissions that im aware of to the Windowsapps folder,etc..

i tried the administator account and had the same issue,..is it worth creating a third account, for a further test,do you think?..

yes i have vpn in browser and on desktop, but turning them of didnt make any difference..

Since the re register attempt, the store now gives,"this file doesn't have an app associated with it",etc,error..no doubt because the re register command failed?...

Also,i use a dns changer to go through Cloudflare or Google, but setting back to default didnt help,..

Yes,i see your thinking with the Superuser post, but this is my personal laptop,..not a work machine,..ill have a good read through, all the same,..

Thanks very much for your help,..ill go though the links you provided and report back..

Disabling UAC can have some unexpected consequences.

You are at risk of creating issues via the VPN etc..

For now, use a simple 'clean' configuration.

Yes, create a new user as stated and try that. That picks up the default settings. If that fails similarly, I suggest you perform an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps progs and data.

The forum prompted you thus:Cant download ms Store aaps_Microsoft Store Error Code: 0x80131500-win-10-version.png
but still don't know your build. You need an iso file of your current build, freely downloadable.Tutorial available.

    Hi

Yes im on latest build, with all updates done,..

This is a fairly new install, carefully set up,and working great, except for this issue which has suddenly appeared,..i dont have any spare storage for backups at the moment,so ill try any troubleshooting except, reset,in place upgrade etc,id rather not do that until ive acquired more storage,to back up first..its possible the issue might be fixed by a future update,also,..
