yes, winre.wim doesnt match.there is problem with this build
same with en-us_windows_10_consumer_editions_version_22h2_updated_dec_2023_x64_dvd_3045f975.iso
boot.wim
Build: 19041
Service Pack Build: 3803
install.wim
Build: 19041
Service Pack Build: 3803
winre.wim
Build: 19041
Service Pack Build: 3562
That is why I used boot.wim image 2 instead of winre.wim as the base when I made pe a few weeks ago
I am not certain it can be done using win10xpe as described in my previous post, maybe somebody will try it and find out.
Win10XPE - Build Your Own Rescue Media [2]
I know you two understand what you're saying, now I have to figure out what that is so I understand it.
I have Windows 11 on all 3 systems I use, two at work and one at home. I need to understand what I have to do to create a new WIN10XPE iso so I can create bootable USB flash drives as needed.
I'm sure I can create a Windows 10 VM so maybe I can build WIN10XPE from there?
I dont know why he posted a screenshot of win11 2428 build or how it is relevant if you want win10 pe.
Maybe you could make it from win11 2428 instead, there is no mismatch so it is easier in that respect.
Hi everyone and Ztruker;
As far as I know host OS system, in your case win11, doesn't make any difference on building a WinPE. I mean you can easily build Windows 10 PE iso on a host machine that runs Windows 11. By the way I didn't understand your problem, what error or problem do you face when you try to build your Windows 10 PE?
Regards.
@Ztruker
Lets start again.
You are having difficulty with win10xpe because the win10 iso you downloaded has different build numbers for winre.wim and install.wim
If you want to use win10xpe, it will be easier for you to download the win11 iso build 2428 because both install.wim and winre.wim are 2428
Here is one I made a while ago:
en-us_windows_11_consumer_editions_version_23h2_x64_dvd_8ea907fb.iso
Windows 11, [22631.2428]
SHA-1: 9d18f7814564421381c94e13c09a9c427baf8018
SHA-256: 71a7ae6974866603d366a911b0c00eace476e0b49d12205d7529765cc50b4b39
2428 will do fine. It is recent so it should be ok for the revocations carry on. If you cant find it, ask.
If you are using 11/12/13/14 gen intel cpu, you can install the two irst updates into the wim.

The message pops up stating that they do no match - it has no regards to the actual build - but you must continue..You are having difficulty with win10xpe because the iso you downloaded has different build numbers for winre.wim and install.wim
Several times it has been also mentioned that the project is not being used - yet advise is offered to its contrary...
TheOven is dead, almost all of the other projects are lacking forum support...
So this "Win10XPE" topic appears to be the only supported "PE" topic..
Openshell is nice.
Quite easy. In pecmd.ini run the reg file and start open-shell\startmenu.exe before launching explorer.
example:
EXEC =REGEDIT /S %CurDir%\PE-OPENSHELL.REG
EXEC %ProgramFiles%\OPEN-SHELL\StartMenu.exe
wait 1000
SHEL %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe
