    Obviously Win10XPE USB flash drives run as an independent OS from the WinOS on the target desktop computer hard disk or SSD.

    What I miss so far are tools to inspect .....

    1.) if there are updated drivers available for the offline WinOS

    2.) what are the most recent entries in the system event log of the offline WinOS

    Yes, Win10XPE includes resp. offers a couple of well know tools to perform these task for its own WinOS but not for another, second offline WinOS

    Did I miss something?

    Can you recommend such tools (not part of a Win10XPE project package)?
    In regard to item #2, Win10XPE includes Full Event LogViewer and Event Log Explorer tools under System Tools. In my build I include only Full Event LogViewer because I prefer it. It allows you to view the events of your local computer as well as events of a remote computer which is what the offline OS is considered. Click here to go to the developers web page for a full explanation of the tool.

    I am not aware of any tool that can handle your item #1 request. Driver updates are dependent on the currently online OS and variability of hardware as it sees it. Maybe other forum members might have a tip for you.

    Why do PortableAppsp Prgms (when added to Win10XPE) open maximized?

    For some PortableApps apps I created an own XPE Plugin and added it to Win10XP

    After creation and booting the USB flash drive I can successfully start those Portable Apps prgms.
    But they start always maximized.

    How can I tell Win10XPE to open them as a "normal" windows?

    Hi

    With the previous release of Win10XPE and using Windows 10 as source I could run my apps built with .NET Framework e.g. the below

    Win10XPE Optional Member XPE APP's

    With the latest release and now using Windows 11 as source - even though I have "Microsoft .NETFx4" checked in Build Core > Main - which is I all did before - none of these apps will now run.

    Any thoughts / advice please?

    P.S. Thank you ChrisR and everyone else for continually working on this project and keeping it updated - much appreciated

    @wingers

    not saying it will work with Win11 but this is updated with latest versions (some still quite old) - not tested by me, as not a user

    PC Assist_Software updated scripts - removed to avoid confusion

    Thanks, for reply - I have tested with latest versions of the apps (I am PC Assist Software - they are my apps, sorry should have made that clear), sorry the only link I could find was to old forum so probably out of date scripts, but I used the latest ones when testing.

    The problem seems to be with running anything that needs .NET framework. Even the DotNet Version Detector on start menu under System Tools included with Win10XPE doesn’t run either.

    Another tool of mine which has always run perfectly fine under Win10XPE (DISM Tool from PC Assist Software) no longer runs either.

    @wingers

    strange, just tried with latest XPE and 10.0.22000.194 (only one I've got) and it seems to work as far as I could tell. Just did a 'Basic Build' with just that selected.

    Ah, okay, maybe its a 22H2 issue then as I have been using 22621.382.

    Will download earlier ISO and see if it then works and report back later - thanks

    As far as a PE is concerned, what's the attraction to everyone to use Win11, I haven't found any advantage to using it, but happy to be informed.

    @APT38

    Just tested with 22000.194 and confirmed like you said all working fine, so the issue it seems is when using 22H2 source files (22621.382 or later) that .NET is broken somehow. Not sure what to do next to try and diagnose / fix, so any advice would be appreciated, happy to do any testing needed to help resolve it.

    Just tend to always use latest ISO version available, but that is a fair point, and no I don't think there is much of an advantange, but happy to continue trying to debug issue so it works for others if possible
