Win10XPE - Build Your Own Rescue Media [2]

    Need help!
    I built an image based on Win10 ISO. 2 issues:
    1. I can't connect to any local network shares. Network itself works fine (internet, etc.) but when I specify user/password to access (or mount) any local network resource, it says that user name or password is invalid. I'm 100% sure they are correct! I can see all my network computers. The problem is THEY ALL REJECT THE CREDENTIALS!!!!
    2. (Doesn't matter if the first issue not solved). I have 3.5 K display. I can load GPU drivers and change resolution form within WinPE. But I'd like to default it (when loading the system) to a lower resolution (1920x1200). Is it possible to set a default resolution as boot up?

    Try adding > Build Core / Network Additions & Components / Remote Desktop
    Try editing the Pecmd.iini to preset the resolution

    Thank you for the reply.
    I fixed Network credentials issue. The problem was quite different. My NAS was rejecting NTLMv1 authentication (minimum NTLMv2 was required). I couldn't find how to make Win10XPE to use NTLMv2, so I configured NAS to accept NTLMv1

    I still can't make the default resolution to work. I modified Pecmd.ini (added DISP command). I see that WinPE switches to a correct resolution (1920x1200). But then (when everything gets loaded, including PENetwork connects to WiFi) in a few seconds the resolution reverts to MAX (3456x2160)! What can cause it? Where I should look for the issue? I checked Pecmd.ini file for any occurrences of DISP (there was one "TEAM DISP ...") and commented it out ("//TEAM DISP ...").
    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Moreover ;
    Will there be an update to the program files? Actually, do we not have a chance to do this automatically?
    For example ;

    So any GURU's here who actually knows how this system works? What happens after pecmd.ini is executed? What resets the resolution back to MAX? Note, SetMaxResolution is excluded from the build!

    That switch back is caused by the "OEM Display Driver" being loaded.... If your Display works without the need for the OEM driver, then don't install it.... Since the OS is loaded into memory - WinPE has no way of remembering the display resolution upon reboot... What is the big deal to reset the display setting to your liking after the system is fully loaded?

    You may also find that some Applications will change the display resolution when launched,,

    Hello there!

    I built a Win10XPE based on Win10-20H2-x64 and it is working fine. But the same one based on Win11 crashes with a bsod. Is this expected?

    Thanks!

    For most Applications - you just need to edit the program version Box and hit the "U" button - they will update themselves....
