Visualisations Not Working in Media Player

Visualisations Not Working in Media Player.

When I first start Media Player, the visualisations display for the first track only.
After that there are no visualisations unless I re-start Media Player again.
Media Player will continue to play the whole list, but will not show any further visualisations.

    What gives ?

Is a music/audio CD disc involved or have the tracks been Ripped to the computer for playing without the disc? Have you tried the free VLC to see if the issue exists with it?

Thanks for the reply and apologies for not answering you earlier.
I have been a bit sidetracked.
If I play straight from the CD everything works as it should do, with the visualisations continuing from one track to another.
But If I play from the Media Player playlist of the same CD, the visualisations play for the first track and then stop, the playlist continues to play.
I don't understand what has happened as I have had no problems for years.
I run two machines and they are both having the same problem.
This makes me think it's related to one of the Windows updates.

    What do you think ?

I have my music on the HDD. Sometimes the visualization doesn't kick in for the 2nd song. Just click fast forward once, and they should be OK after that.

Why it does that.... I have no idea. For me, it's been that way on Win 10 since the day I installed it.

    Thanks.
    But !

Just tried that, and I have to fast forward at the end of each track to make the visualisations work.
If I don't then the situation is the same as before.
Playlist continues, but the visuals stop ?

    Then I don't know.
I just have to do FF once...then the visualization stay ON.

Might want to do like a lot of others and just ignore WPM. Try... Foobar 2000

    OK.
    Thanks.
    I will take a look.

Perhaps I will wait to see what happens when W11 is downloaded.

I will leave this issue open as there has to be a reason for it, and someone, somewhere must know what's going on.

    Thanks again.

    Well, the story so far.
I found this solution online and have followed the instructions exactly.

Follow the instructions below to run Windows Media Player troubleshooter.1. Press Windows key + R2. Copy-paste the code below and hit Entermsdt.exe -id WindowsMediaPlayerConfigurationDiagnostic

The problem persists, and below is the diagnostic output.

    Anyone got any ideas ?

As I said before this problem is new, I have run two machines with no problem for a number of years.
    Now suddenly both are affected.
This makes me think it's one of the Windows 10 updates that's causing the problem

Numerous people trying to apply Media Player Visualisations are having your exact problem. It is a bug in the player for Windows 10 that Microsoft is unable to correct. I have found a soloution if anyone is interested. There are several programs free to download which will sidestep this problem. Two of these are AlbumWrap and Alba. These are track splitting programs but can also be applied in transforming single mp3 tracks into one file which I refer to as an STR (Single Track Recording). In other words, take your single track selections and wrap them into one single mp3 file. You can put these files in numerical order so they will play in the order that you specify before you wrap them into one single file. I am not sure how may selections you can wrap into one file but I know that at least 50 files are possible. Played as a single file these selections will show the visualisations from the media player from beginning to end. I stumbled unto this fix by accident. I had a friend that gave me his mp3 library and all his music albums were AlbumWrapped into single files. The majority of these files I was able to open with the AlbumWrap Extractor to reveal the individual tracks. About 200 files I could not open because he failed to wrap them properly. These Albums remain as one single file in my collection. They all play perfectly and in the proper numerical order, but more importantly, the visualisations remain from start to finish.
