    Microsoft Store Won't Install Anything...


    Short version: The Install button in the App store won't work.

    A few hours ago, I just got done reinstalling Windows 10, and installed all the drivers and software I needed, as I always do.

    Eventually, I went to the MS Store to install the Xbox app so I can install Forza Horizon 4 and Doom Eternal from Game Pass. I click on the Install button and... nothing. I've NEVER had this problem before, EVER.

    I pretty much immediately went to Google and searched for potential fixes to this issue. Nothing has worked:
    1. Repaired the Store with the WSReset command.
    2. Reset the Store via the App Reset in Settings.
    3. Reinstalled the Store using the PowerShell command.
    4. Logged out and logged in again.
    5. Reinstalled Windows 4 TIMES IN A ROW with the most up-to-date version using the Windows media Creation Tool.
    6. Made sure Windows was fully updated.
    7. Ran the App troubleshooter... no problems found.

    I can't think of anything else. Unless someone has another idea, I'm all out. If it hasn't worked after installing Windows 4 times in a row, then it HAS to be a Windows fault, surely?

    The only thing that DOES work, somewhat, is the log out and in method. BUT, I have to log out, click Install on the app I want, sign in, THEN it'll download. However, if I want to install something, I have to repeat that each and every time. Signing out once doesn't fix the problem.

    Also, I seem to be able to install apps from the Library, but I can't install anything new unless I faff around logging out and in all the time.

    The Store also doesn't detect apps that are currently installed. Instead, they just say Install instead of Launch. If I'm signed out, it DOES say Launch, but it wants me to sign in.

    Honestly, I cannot believe the Store is this buggy and glitchy. It was working fine before I had to reinstall Windows this morning, due to, oddly enough, the Store breaking and not working!

    Nothing has changed at all. This was after a fresh, clean install of Windows (4 times!) and the Store is completely broken from the offset.

    Kinda losing my mind, so if anyone has any other ideas that I haven't done or thought of, PLEASE do let me know! Please and thank you!

    I am yes, it signs me in automatically and I'm signed in all the time. This is actually the first time I've ever signed out of the Store, as I've never had any issues until today.

    Hi, these are the routine steps: you've probably done most of them... cache?

    It’s a bug. Many are reporting this on the MS forums. The Get/Install button doesn’t work.

    Yep, done all that. In fact, that's one of the sites I followed the instructions from, all of them, in order. Nowt fixed it.

    And definitely not running behind a VPN.

    Figures as much. Never had a problem with the Store before, until this morning. Then it all goes down the crapper for no reason.

    Yes, the store works for me with apps already installed or previously uninstalled & now downloading again. The problem seems to affect new app installs/the Get button.
    The bug is now fixed for some users.

    Wait... wait... sigh, I THINK it's suddenly and randomly WORKING now. Like, for real... it wasn't doing anything just 30 minutes ago, but I've just managed to to install Twitter and the Xbox Avatar Editor using the Install button.

    Both installed fine. Hmm... not sure what's going on here, nothing had changed. Even after the MS Store had an update it still didn't work, but now it seems it does work.

    I'll keep checking, but I've been tearing my hear out since 9am this morning and NOW it decides to work?1 Arrgghh!
