Quick Assist sits at screen with spinning dots on my user account

This is similar to other issues about quick assist.

I just installed the Quick Assist optional addon, but when I launch it, it sits at a white screen with spinning blue dots, like it's loading something. It will sit here forever and not continue. If I look in process monitor, the last thing it does is send some data to a remote HTTPS address. But after that, there is no activity in Process Monitor.

I've tried resetting my Internet Options and rebooting which some people report has worked, but this did not fix the issue for me. I did try creating a new user account and launching the app in there, which did work. This is unfortunate though, because I have my current user account setup to provide remote support and logging in to a separate account just to use this app is fairly inconvenient. What can I do to troubleshoot what exactly is causing this issue in my account?

    Thanks in advance!

I just installed the Quick Assist optional addon,
You should not have had to install it - quickassist - should have already been on the system
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...t/quick-assist

it is included in 10 on windows built in from windows accessories
if you look at the link above you simply type
    quick assist
in the search bar on the taskbar and then click it and window should open
OR you can go via settings and apps and on find optional features
    you simply type
    quick assist
    in the box

Where please have you installed it from.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear with my wording there. Quick Assist was not installed (enabled) on my system for whatever reason, so I enabled it as an optional feature. I confused addon with optional feature.

    Cheers
Could you clarify please if you intend using the Quick Assist
because I have my current user account setup to provide remote support
as it appears - to provide support or for support to be provided to you.

It would appear that considering the facts there is either corruption in your user account OR your account includes software for some third party app, that is causing the problem with Quick Assist

If you intend using QuickAssist for others to assist you, then what please is the current problem you are trying to address.
I am sure I can help with that whatever it is, but not of course using QuickAssist as all help on this site must be in the forum

I linked to a different thread in my OP, wherein another user was having the same issue with QuickAssist that I'm experiencing (a white screen with spinning blue dots). They discovered a workaround which involves creating a new Windows account on their PC, and logging in to it to use the app. They later discovered that by resetting their Internet Options to defaults, they were able to get it working on their primary user account. I tried this as well, but it did not resolve the issue. It seems my only option at this point is to use a secondary computer account, although this would be fairly inconvenient for me as I have my primary account configured how I like and would prefer to use it. I would like to use Quick Assist to provide support for other people. (I've used Team Viewer before, but they're starting to clamp down on my free use and want exorbitant fees to use it professionally).

Sorry if I'm not explaining this well, I don't expect you to provide remote assistance to me or anything like that. I'd just appreciate some help troubleshooting what exactly is causing this behavior. It seems odd to me that, according to Process Monitor, all process activity stops after it sends/receives some data to an IP address. It's like it's expecting something back that it isn't receiving? Maybe I need to dive deeper into the network traffic...

I was as I said not sure if you wanted QuickAssist for support TO you
or for YOU to offer support
as you have now clarified that you indeed want to use it - for YOU to provide support

That was the exact topic I linked above (and instructions I followed). The reset you're referring to in post 9 did not help unfortunately. If you have any other ideas I'd appreciate it!

    Thank you

I just want to update - at some point, I've no idea when - Quick Assist has started working again on my main user profile. I can't tell what version it is, but my system version is 20H2.
