Thought I would have a look at the new package installer but when trying to run it i get "winget : The term 'winget' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet" on 21H1.

You have installed it first, haven't you? It doesn't come with Windows. If so, try a Command Prompt rather than Powershell.

....After App Installer is installed, you can run winget by typing 'winget' from a Command Prompt.

For the life of me i cannot get Winget to update, every time i run the bundle it opens the app installer, says update, i hit yes, then it immediately closes & that's it.

Think it might have something to do with some telemetry i have shut off or something...idk? It was obviously working at one time. Hence the Preview version i'm currently on.

Yes, installed through app store. It doesn't work in cmd, the new enhanced cmd or powershell.

Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features then, in the right-hand pane, click on the link for Manage app execution aliases.

If the winget client has installed properly then you should see this:

    winget-winget.png

If you don't see this then either the installer hasn't added itself to the PATH environment variable or you haven't signed out/signed in (or both... there are issues reported with this first release).

    Try installing it again:

    https://github.com/microsoft/winget-...bwe.appxbundle

    You should see this:

    winget-winget_install.png

If it installs successfully then you should see this:

    winget-winget_install_success.png

In a console (PowerShell or CMD), the command winget list should result in something like this:

    winget-winget_list.png

    Hope this helps...

Lmao, turns out my dumbass had Store install service disable for some reason, re-enabled that & my Winget updated to 1.0 just fine. Also y'all see this?

Winget repo is suffering from duplicate apps with malformed manifests
