How to use Whatsapp on computer - not with Smartphone

Hi! I'd like to learn how to use Whatsapp on my laptop computer, to connect with friends who use it through their computers or Smartphones. We never get online with our Smartphone, as we use installed wi-fi in our home to use the internet.

I downloaded Whatsapp emulator, and also Whatsapp messenger. I see the green Whatsapp emulator, but don't see the Whatsapp messenger on my computer, except for in the downloads section. I extracted it there, but still see no icon for it on my desktop.

I understand I'm supposed to use the Whatsapp code in my husband's Smartphone, in order to copy the code to the Whatsapp emulator (wave). But how can I do that if Whatsapp isn't installed on the Smartphone? And how can it be installed on the Smartphone without going on the internet with the Smartphone, in order to download it? Or is it not possible? And how do I find the Whatsapp code (if it is available to copy) in the Smartphone?

You just connect your smartphone to your wifi network - method depends on the phone. But my experience of trying to access whatsapp on a PC was disappointing - when I tried it, it appeared that all it would do was mirror what was on my phone, which had to be connected all the time to be any use, and WA on the PC alone did not do anything.

    Install Bluestacks first!

    Dear Whatsapp User.

Install Bluestacks. This is an Android emulator that makes apps think your PC's using Android (cos it IS, it's a virtual machine!) Then search in Bluestacks for What's App and open it exactly as if you were doing so on your phone (cos your PC's now a phone - sorta!) Then you'll be able to use it exactly as though you were using it on a phone.

Bluestacks vs. Nox Player. I know people say Nox Player's better than Bluestacks but I've never been able to get it to run on my PC and Bluestacks ran straight off, that's why I stuck with Bluestacks. Nox Player's the rival, those it works for swear it's better than Bluestacks. It MIGHT work better for you, I've just had zero luck with it. If it works for you, I'd say it's the same process as above, just run it and search for an app. But I've never actually used it.

But the first para. principle holds roughly true for both systems, I'm sure!

    Yours respectfully

    Chris.

As that page says, WA must also be installed on your phone...
