    People App Missing

    Windows 10 ver 20H2

I have grown used to having the People App show on my taskbar for years. On my new installation it does not. In-fact it does not appear any where on the Start List. But it does show up fully populated and working in Outlook.Com as well as Mail.

What do I have to do to get it to show on my Desktop or Task Bar? All I read here in the forum suggests it may no longer work in Ver 20H2.

Some one please help me here.

    Thank you.

    Hi, have you seen this?
It's a permanent change unfortunately. They removed it from the Start Menu on purpose.
    • With most of the launches of the People app coming directly from within the Mail and Calendar apps in Windows 10, the People app no longer appears as a standalone app in Start. It remains as an inbox app and can be launched to manage your contacts from the button in the Mail and Calendar apps.

Yet if you search Settings for People you can find this (this is in 21H1):

However- any big change will come in 21H2.

    Some have reported seeing this:
Why does this ms-resource:AppListName suddenly showed up? it just opens the People app when clicked : Windows10

You can still get it in the notification area. Right click the taskbar and select 'Show People on the taskbar'.

Right Click the Taskbar, in an empty space > Show People on the Task Bar, tick. Then > Apps tab.

Then if you go to 3 dots > Settings that will take you into the relevant section of the Settings for more options.

Same as, Settings > Personalisation > Taskbar > Scroll down to People.

    Thank you, Helmut.

I tried as you suggested but that didn't do what I expected. I got the two little head in what I believe to be the notification area and was allowed to add only three people to the list -- not the full list as shown by Outlook Live.Com and Windows Mail. On my other Ver 1909 machines with the two little heads show the complete list of approximately 30 contacts.

Perhaps that is due to the People App not being available in 20H2.

    Any thoughts on that?

    Thanks again.

Are you signed in to all with the same Microsoft account to have them sync?

You can also create a shortcut to ms-people: on the Desktop or elsewhere
