    Sourceforge safe or not?

Could you help me understand SourceForge. I want to install "SageThump" but the only source is from SourceForge. For years SF was a dangerous place to DL and install apps from. What's your opinion on SF? thank you.

    Welcome to Ten Forums.

This article from the How-To Geek may help.....

This article had the headline “Warning: Don’t Download Software From SourceForge If You Can Help It” when we published it back in 2015. Since then, much has changed. SourceForge was sold to a new company that immediately stopped the DevShare program in 2016. We’re leaving the rest of this article here for historical reference, but our criticism is outdated. SourceForge isn’t behaving badly anymore.
Yes, You Can Download Software From SourceForge Again

    Bree,

Thank you for your reply. I look and look for advice and was stunned to find none. I want to install SageThumb on to Win10 as I had on 8.1 to view Photoshop thumbnails. It amazes me PS thumbs aren't standard on win10.

Having seen the issue before with SourceForge I was curious. As to PS, Adobe is a lot like Apple's Macintosh in controlling/sharing the source code for their programs, does the phrase "captive audience" or proprietary creep up in thinking? It's also part of not being able to do some the same things in Linux as in Windows.

Agreed, every company is so "Out for their own" attitude we all suffer. I've turned my back on the adobes of the world due to their subscription-type business model. Unfortunately, I've 2 decades of PSD files. GIMP and Krita open PSDs but don't resolve the thumbnails. It's almost an impossible workflow without seeing a file thumbnail IMO.

On a second question, Where do I post a suggestion on "TenForums" interface

Try the VIP section when logged in.

Has the default program for .psd files been set for a different program/viewer?

Also... you can scan anything you download, by uploading it to Virustotal...
It does have a maximum file size but it's pretty large.
