    What is a good application for searching Windows file contents?


    Hello

    What is a good application for searching the contents (not just the file names) of Windows 10 files?

    I am looking for an alternative to X1 Search. I want something that indexes all my files and therefore has fast results.

    Hi,
    a. Windows search indexes content of course.
    b. Copernic (not free)
    c. Docfetcher (free) looks interesting
    DocFetcher - Fast Document Search


    X1 is supposed to be very compreshensive.

    Some of the tools that find files can then search the content of those found files (i.e. content is not indexed).

    Here's a list that includes some that index content and some that don't.

    No, Ccleaner doesn't offer a sufficiently sophisticated search.
