    VLC Player Auto Update Issue

For anyone running VLC Player versions 3.0.12 or 3.0.13, there is an issue with the auto updater (if you use it). Updating to 3.0.14 has to be done manually.

EDIT: To clarify -- if you have version 3.0.12 or 3.0.13, you have to go to VLC's website and download 3.0.14 manually. Manually updating through existing 3.0.12 or 3.0.13 will not work.

Vivaldi gave that same type message yesterday with their update, must be something about the latest Build update, .928.

Have to give VLC credit. They admit a mistake in their updater code and fixed it sooner rather than later.

They must have been quick, had the problem 1 hour ago when I updated.

Did you go to VLC's website to update? They mention that in the link I gave and I had no problem.

@Berton -- A friend of mine just got the new version from the website. Hopefully, it's sorting out.

I'm on .12, trying to go to .14. Here's the notice VLC produces:

Just got .14 using VLC Check for updates as had been done in the past on by Insider Preview Dev channel computer, no issue now. The issue was prevalent on my other computers, latest RTM Version. Just did an RTM with .11, got .14 no problem.

All I had to do to go from 12 to 14 was go to the %TEMP% folder and run the exe from there, then delete it. The site offered instructions.
