    Program Compatibility Assistant

Program Compatibility Assistant gives me continuous alerts that "an app can't run on this device" but the alert doesn't say which app and all the apps I'm using are running fine. I've tried everything suggested in these forums to turn off this bothersome notification without success. Is there a way to determine which app is causing the alert?

About all you can do is notice which program being opening coincides with the message. It may not be the program itself but some support addition such as an old version of Internet Explorer that is includes or maybe Flash Player. I've loaded some old programs but most times they won't install from their CD on a 64-bit machine.

Thanks for your response. You are probably correct about the problem being some support function because Task Manager shows no running programs after I boot up and I still get the message. Also, no message when I boot into Safe Mode so it's not a Windows 10 problem. I have a desktop computer with Windows 10 Home running all of these apps and no message so I wonder if it could be laptop related. This is an old HP Pavilion. I guess I'll investigate further. Again, thanks for trying to help.

Hope you can get it sorted. Just yesterday I put a used 500GB drive in an older [2011] HP Pavilion Notebook and installed Win10 clean, it is showing some slowness in comparison with the previous SSD and Linux, am checking further.
