    Cannot find HPTouchpointAnalytics Bloatware on computer Want to delete


    HP Laptop running W10 V20H2

    Every now and then, my Hitman scanning program recognizes secretly installed HP Bloatware that I did not authorize.
    When this stuff hits, I can have it deleted, however, the program that causes this stuff to be secretly installed is still present and operating. I Googled how to get rid of this stuff, and am told to go to "Control Panel">"Programs and features" to uninstall...doesn't work, this software is not listed there. I have also looked in "Program Files" and "Program files (x86)" without luck.

    Does anybody know how to delete this programming? Do I need to do something with "cmd" and/or "regedit"?

    If it's OEM HP bloatware, then it wasn't installed in some special software folder that you set up after you started using the computer. When we eliminate that possibility, if it's software, and it's really installed on your machine currently (not just once-upon-a-time), it's going to be findable in Program Files, Program Files (x86), Program Data, or in your User folder, inside AppData. If it isn't in any of those locations, it's not currently installed software, and you don't need to worry about uninstalling it.

    I'm mystified by your "the program that causes this stuff to be secretly installed is still present and operating" claim. What program might that be? Can you locate it in one of the above-named locations?

    Come back with some more information, and someone here will be able to pursue your problem further.

    Hi. You might just consider disabling the HP Analytics service to keep the 2 HP Analytics processes from running. The only thing that will be affected by doing this is the app HP Privacy Settings which will then render an error if you try to open it.

    HP Touchpoint Analytics keeps being installed on my HP laptop via Windows Update. There is no installed program to remove. I zap it by deleting the TA service in Autoruns then delete the folder under C:\ProgramData\HP.

    I keep an eye on what has been installed using Reliability Monitor. When I spot TA, I zap it. There are also other useless HP services I disable including HP App Helper HAS, HP LAN/WLAN/WWAN Switching UWP & HP Network HSA. Beware you don't have Sureclick installed which is challenging to remove. I can advise how to zap it if so affected.

    Looks like I misunderstood how this HP Bloatware gets onto my computer. HP may have harvested my computer address when I set the computer up. I can’t find HPTouchpointAnalytics in anywhere

    First off there is nothing being secretly installed by Microsoft nor HP on your comouter. See this about uninstalling Tocuhpoint. Analytics can be updated by Microsoft and OEM’s for fixes. Analytics just collect hardware info and nothing more. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04163604

    Whew! It's a relief to know there's no skullduggery going on here. I have an HP, too, and I was beginning to worry.

    That doesn't work since the TA service is installed without having a listed program to remove.

How To Find And Delete Unnecessary Files?

Hi all, I want to find and delete files that are taking up space. I mainly want to find large files that I'm unaware of. I've already run the Windows 10 app "Disk Clean Up" and it deleted about 2GB worth of files. Any help would be great!
